The rain was coming down in buckets. I looked out the window of the car up at the Oaks at Salem as we pulled up. I was afraid.... I wasn't afraid of the rain, we had shot in it before (albeit this was the most heavy rain we have ever encountered) I wasn't afraid of the day not being pretty or meaningful... I was afraid our beautiful bride, Beth, would be sad. It was her wedding day, and I wanted for her what I want for ALL our brides. To be happy, and not to be disappointed that mother nature decided to really water the grass. As we walked up to the getting ready suite I prepped myself. I was going to make sure Beth knew that this rain was NOT going to stop us! But the moment I opened the door, I knew no pep talk was needed. All the girls were hanging out, drinking mimosas, and having a wonderful morning! There was not a single worried face! It is moments like this that I ADORE our couples! We then spent the day capturing this beautiful couple, their bridal party, friends and family. We got to play in the rain, witness some beautiful vows, hear some hilarious speeches, and watch a little cutie kid BREAK DANCE! It was, as it should be, a perfect day.
Beth and Christopher, thank you for being the perfect example of a couples who's love is greater than any number of rain drop on a wedding day. We are so thankful for you both, and so happy we got to be there to witness and capture all of the sweet moments. Congratulations on a BEAUTIFUL wedding, and here is to an even more beautiful marriage!
