It isn't every day that we have the pleasure of attending a wedding of not only two of the sweetest people, but also a wedding where almost every single detail has a personal story!! It may not come as a surprise that two UNC graduates chose colors that had hints of Carolina Blue throughout, and planned to take portraits at the Old Well... But the personal details go beyond what you first notice. Take this brides dress... it is absolutely beautiful, and looks like it was made for her! But in reality, it was actually made for her MOM! Thats right, this bride, after a few alterations wore her sweet moms wedding dress! But that incredible veil must have been new right? Nope. It was passed down from the grooms side of the family! how amazing is that??? These amazing ties to family and heritage are just so special, but it didn't stop with the colors, dress or veil. In fact the sweetest connection to their special day was maybe the venue itself, The Carolina Inn. We love it when our couples choose locations that have meaning to them, and boy did this one! First off, obviously it is a Carolina classic. But if you have ever been inside you will notice the portraits hung on the walls detailing all the important UNC figures. Glancing around you can see our brides last name hung on the walls... Smith. As in Dean Smith, the legendary UNC basket Ball Coach who has the Dean Dome named for him. yes, Morgan is the granddaughter of this incredible man, who sadly passed last year. But everywhere we looked on this day he was there! His portrait hung on the wall outside her getting ready suite, as well as in the hall leading up to the reception space. UNC's campus was the back drop for some of our portraits, the same campus her grandfather walked on. Now before sharing these personal details about our bride and her family I asked if it was ok with her, and she sweetly said "yes, because he is such an important person in my life." I honestly can't think of a wedding whose location was filled to the brim with to much sentiment. It is easy to forget on a wedding day what is truly important. Not the shoes, not the dress or the flowers, but your love and the bringing together of two families, and I truly think Morgan and Henrys day celebrated just that.
Thank you guys for allowing us to capture your perfect day! We adore you both!
